The State vs John Dunnavin} Same jury. Find the Defendant Guilty of Ass’t in manner charged in the Ind’t but not Guilty of the Battery, fined 20/ & Imprisoned in the Debtor’s room until Tomorrow 10 o’Clock & from that time until the fines & Costs are paid.

The State vs Wm Faucett} Presentment, charged & Submits. Ordered that the Defendant pay a fine of five Shillings & that he be imprisoned from this time until 10 o’Clock until Tomorrow morning.

Ordered that William Shepperd be fined the Sum of £5 for swearing on the Bench while exercising the office of a Justice of the peace.

The State vs Sam’l Child} Same Jury. Find the Def’t not Guilty.

[OCPQS 7/71 – Aug 1805]

Absalom Hall being brought before the Court and upon his examination acknowledging that he is in the habit of Gaming and has no regular means of Subsistence and it appearing to the Court that he is a person of an Idle and Suspicious Character and not able to give any good account of himself, It is therefore ordered that he be committed to the public Gaol for the Space of Ten days or until he gives good & Sufficient Security for his good behavior.

John Cole and Thomas Morgan being brought into Court And it appearing that they have been engaged in Gaming & Guilty of a Contempt of the Court, It is therefore Ordered that they be Committed to the Public Goal until five o’Clock Tomorrow and from thence until the[y] give good & sufficient Security for their Good behavior.

Administration on the Estate of Wm Chizenhall Dec’d is granted to James Curry & Burwell Chizenhall who enter into Bond with Jesse Hunter, Henry Lewis & John Cates in the Sum of £1000.

Ordered that George Foust be released from the payment of a double Tax for the year 1804 on his paying to the Sheriff a Single Tax for that year.

Ordered Hannah Wableton daughter of Fanny Wableton now of the age of 14 years in November be bound to Robert Millican to learn the art & mistery of a Spinster. [Bond not found.]

Ordered that four Children of [blank] Seafort Dec’d be brought to next Court to be bound.

Ordered that the Children of Jabes? Taylor Dec’d vizt Elizabeth, Joseph & Sarah be brought to next Court to be bound out.

Ordered that the Sheriff forbear to collect a double [tax] from David Rainey for the year 1804 he paying a Single Tax.

John Morgan being brought into Court and it appearing that he have engaged in Gaming and Guilty of a Contempt of the Court, It is Ordered that the said John Morgan be committed to the Public Gaol until 5 o’Clock the Evening & from thence until he gives Security for his good behavior in future.

Ordered that Sarah Freeman daughter of Sam’l Freeman now of the Age of twelve Years the 16th March last be bound to Peter Foust to learn the Art & mistery of a Spinster. [See Apprentice Bonds, image 467.]

Samuel Hopkins is appointed Guardian to Nancy Pickett and enters into Bond with Jarratt Yeargan & Henry Thompson Jr his Sec’s in the Sum of £150.
