is no pay’t or set off, that the Dollars mentioned in the Bond is of the Value

Jonathan Forrest vs David Nunn} Same Jury find the Defend’t
did assume & that the action is not barred by the Statute agt gameming
[sic] & assess Pltffs Damage to £21.15 & Costs.

Mebane Esqrs or either of them are appointed to take the private examinations
of Elisabeth Murray wife of John Murray touching the execution of a Deed by

Thomas Edwards vs David Nunn} Same Jury, the plaintiff
called & non suit.

On motion, Thomas Armstrong, Jacob Troxler & John Boon
who were summ’ed to attend as Jurors at November Term & who were fined for
their non attendence as such are released from their fines for reasons shewn
the court on affidavit.
On motion of Duncan Cameron esq, Ordered that a Capias
issued to the County of Caswell against Benjamin Ponds who is charged with
having begotten a Bastard Child on the body of Mary King of this County, it is
further ordered that the said Ponds there enter into Bond in the Sum of £50 for
his faithful appearance at the next County Court. [See Bastardy Bonds, images
1187, 1247 & 1249.]
The Execution of a Deed from George Carrington to Mary Woods
was duly proved in open Court by the oath of Joseph Woods a subscribing Witness

The Execution of a Bill of Sale from Samuel Riggs to John
Jamison was duly proved in open Court by the oath of Thomas Laws a subscribing

Administration on the Estate of Reuben Bradbury is granted
to Matthew McCauley on his entering into Bond with S [blank] his Securities in
the Sum of £200.

was duly proved in open Court by the oath of Leonard Carlton a subscribing

The Execution of a Deed of Gift from James Lewis to Sam’l
Child was duly proved in open Court by the oath of Sam’l Benton a subscribing
Witness thereto & ordered to be registered. [See ODB 13/34.]

On motion [of] William Norwood, Ordered that David Herndon
who is charged who is charged with having begotten a base born born
[sic] Child on the body of Priscilla Wade Single woman of this County Ordered
that the said David Herndun pay to the said Priscilla Wade Twenty Seven pounds
as follows Seven pounds to be paid down immediately & five pounds annually
thereafter until the whole is paid. [See Bastardy Bonds, image 1143.]
The Execution of a Deed of Trust from Henry Smith to William
Bond was duly proved in open Court by the Oath of Rob’t Mebane a subscribing

Thomas Ray was duly proved in open Court by the oath of David Ray a subscribing
Witness thereto & ordered to be registered. [See ODB 13/15.]
The Execution of an agreement between Abraham McLemore,
James Nicholson, Agness Green, Sugar Jones and David Bowers was duly proved in
open Court by the oath of John Cook a subscribing Witness thereto & ordered
to be registered. [See ODB 13/17.]

An Indorsment on a Deed from John Furry to John Robinson
[ODB 12/278] by way of Morgtgage [sic] from said Robinson to Hudson Berry was
duly proved in open Court by the oath of William Culberson a subscribing
witness thereto & ordered to be registered. [See ODB 13/26.]
A Deed executed by Hardy Morgan to John Morgan on the 13th
April 1789 and attested by Mark Morgan & Albert Sears who are both dec’d
was duly proved by the oath of Chesley P Patterson and ordered to be
registered. [See ODB 13/9.]
Administration on the Estate of Joel Philips Deceased is
Granted to Sarah Philips his widow & John Gant on their entering into Bond
with George Wilkie & William Rogers their Securities in the sum of £500 at
the same time the Adm’rs Qualified according.
Polley Whitaker the widow & Relict of Abraham Whitaker
Deceased comes into Court and enters her Descent to the provisions made her by
the last Will and Testament of the said Abraham Whitaker her late husband and
prays the same may be entered of Record. [No such will found in OWB.]

On Motion of William Norwood esq, Ordered that Benjamin
Carroll who is charged with having begotten a Child on the body of Ellinor
Crabtree pay to the said Ellenor twenty seven pounds as follows (to wit) Seven
pounds to be paid down immediately and five pounds in twelve months & five
pounds annually thereafter until the whole is paid. [Not found in Bastardy
Bonds.]
Henry Fogleman who was Summoned to attend as a Juror at last
Court come is excused from his fine for reasons shewn the Court on
affidavit.

relict of John Wells Dec’d one years provision &c and report the same to
