George Carrington} Jury Sworn & charged: William Hopkins, Henry Edwards, Robert Hall, John Ray, William Warren, Henry Goodrich, James Patterson, Adam Dixon, John Douglass, Edmond Herndon, William Hall, John Warren. Find that the Defendant does detain the Negro Slaves mentioned in the writ, that within three Years and that there is no release. They further find that the Negro Jude is of the Value of £200, Sylvia £200, Peter £175, Poll £100, Henderson £125 and assess the Plffs Damages to 1d & costs.

Daniel McP[h]erson is appointed Guardian to Aaron, Stephen, Anne McPherson Orphans of Enoch McPherson Dec’d & enters into Bond with John Marshall and John Thompson Sec’s in the Sum of £150.

Ordered that the Sheriff bring into next Court Ellison Parish Son of Druce, William Rhew Son of Mary, Willis Stag Son of Frances, Walter Stagg son of Lot Vaughan, Samuel King Son of Elizabeth, John King Son of Elizabeth in order that they be bound out.

Rachel Carrington Widow of James Carrington of Geo Dec’d comes into Court & relinquishes her right of Administration on said Estate. Administration is therefore granted of the Estate of James Carrington Dec’d to Herbert Sims who enters into Bond with Duncan Cameron his Sec’y in the Sum of five hundred pounds.

Ordered that John Duke pay to Leah Lingo the Sum of Twenty Seven pounds, to wit, Seventeen pounds immediately & five pounds on Sep’r next and five pounds annually thereafter until the whole is paid for the Support & maintenance of a child of which she hath lately been delivered and of which he stands charged as the reputed father. In Obedience to a Writ of Proscedendo from Superior [Court] Administration on the Estate of John Casey Dec’d is granted to Daniel Carthy the next of Kin who enters into Bond with Elizabeth Hart and Phoebe Kean his Sec’s in the Sum of £4000.

Thomas Whithed is appointed Guard to John, Henry, James & William O’Daniel Orphans of William O’Daniel Dec’d who enters into Bond with John Workman his Sec’y in the Sum of £100 each.

John Taylor heretofore appointed Guardian to Celia Jones relinquishes his Guardianship, Whereupon Taylor Duke is appointed Guard to Calia Jones who enters into bond with George Carrington & John D Carrington his Sec’s in the Sum of £500.

Administration on the Estate of Nathan Hall Dec’d is granted to Rachel Hill & John Hill who enters into Bond with James McClure & Abner Powell their Securities in the sum of £200, and qualified according to law. Order for sale &c.

The last Will and Testament of John Taylor (Eno) was duly proved and ordered to be recorded at same time came Thos Taylor the Executor therein named and was duly qualified. [See OWB D/380.]

John Marshal vs Heirs of John Woody} Issue sci fa. John Crawford Guardian Joseph James, Sarah, Ann, Mary & Elizabeth Woody.

Ordered that William Horton be allowed L?6 for making Juror Boxes and that the County Trustee pay the Same.

Ordered that Prophenius Brown an Orphan of Edward Brown Dec’d now of the age of fifteen years about 15^th May last be bound to William Lynn until he arrive to lawful age to learn the Art & mistery of a farmer. [See Apprentice Bonds, image 535.]

Pleasant Henderson esq one of the Justices named in the Commission of the Peace appeared & took the Several Oaths necessary for his Qualification.
