held for the County of Orange in the town of Hillsboro on the 4th

Administration of the estate of Rob’t Holms is Granted
Rachel Holms the Widow of the said Rob’t Holms dec’d who enters into Bond in
the sum of Five Hundred pounds with Jno Homes and Abraham Whinery Sec’ys
according to Law.

[OCPQS 4/323 - Feb 1791]
On a Petition of a Number of the Inhabitants of this County
praying leave for Isaac Hicks to build a mill over the river Enoe about two
miles above the lines of Orange County. Ordered that the said Isaac Hicks have
leave to build a Water Grist mill over the the said river at the place
aforesaid, and that the said mill when built, become a public mill. [But this
order was rescinded at OCPQS 4/322, but reinstated at OCPQS 4/340.]
Ordered that the new road opened by Henry O’Dannel and the
hand under him between Ellinor Moores & James Tinnens become a public road,
and that the said Henry O’Dannel with the Hands under him keep the same in good
repair.
Henry Potter esq produced into Court a Licence from under
the hands of their Honors the Judges of the Superior Court of Law &c
Authorizing him to practice and plead as an Atto &c, Which being read,
ordered that the said Henry Potter esqr be Admited to plead and practice as an
Atto in this Court. The said Henry having taken the oaths prescribed by Law for
his quallification. Transferred to [blank]

Tuesday morning 10 O Clock 1st March 1791, Court
met according to adjournment. Present: Jno Walker, Alex Mebane, Nicholas Gibbs}

Margaret Porter orphan of Thomas Porter comes into Court and
Chooses David Patterson her Guardian. Ordered that the said David give Bond
with Sec’s in the sum of two Hundred & fifty pounds. [See also accounting
OCPQS 5/65.]
Ordered that an order made yesterday for ??? of Isaac
Hicks Granting him leave to build a mill over Enoe &c be recinded. [See
OCPQS 4/321. But he was again given permission to go ahead at OCPQS 4/340.]

& Benjamin Lacy came into Court, took the oaths for the quallification of
Justice of the Peace & took their Seats accordingly
Dan’l Joudson esq is appointed States Atto pro tempore in
the room of Jno Williams esq atto who is absent.
Joseph Clendening is appointed Collector of Taxes for the
District of St Asaph for the present year. Ordered that he Give Bond
accordingly. Bond & Sec’y ???
Jno Chizenhall is appointed overseer of the road in the room
of Drury Johnston.
Jno Thompson is appointed Overseer of the road in the room
of Joseph Stalsworth.

the year 1798.

of Administration be granted to Mary Partin who enter into bond of Two hundred

Order’d that Abby Shiken an orphan Girl 5 years old be bound

Order’d that James Mangom an orphan Boy aged six years be

Administration of the estate of Stephen Loyd Dec’d is
Granted to Martha Loyd the Widow of the said Dec’d and at the same time the
said Loyd entered into Bond with [blank] Securitys in the sum of [blank]

Henry Mason is appointed overseer of the road from Hamiltons
branch to Brice Collins’s in the room of David Bradford.
Dan’l Chandler is appointed overseer of the road from the
cross roads at Jno Mitchums to the new Hope road in the room of Rubin Westmoreland
with the usual hands.

Thomas Kirk is appointed overseer of the road from the
Waters of new Hope to Widow Moores in the room of Thomas Durham.
Ezekael Chance is appointed overseer of the road from the
County line to Buck Horne Creek in the room of Thomas Bird.
James Robinson is appointed Constable for the District of St
Asaphs District and entered into Bond with Sec’y in the sum of £250 and took
the oath accordingly.

Samuel Parkes is appointed Guardian to Sam’l P Morgan for
the Special purpose of taking care and renting out a certain tract of land on
the Waters of New Hope, given by Samuel Parks to the said Sam’l P Morgan.
Order’d that Andrew Ray an orphan continued with
reputed Father Jno Ray that the 2d Indenture made to Jno Ray son of Rob’t be
disannul’d. NB: the above mentioned child was bound in the name of Jno Ray when
it should have been Andrew. [Bond not found. See OCPQS 4/195.]
Jas Nelson collector for St Mary’s came into Court ???’d his
Insolvents & was allow’d eleven poles & seven hundred acres of Land.

respecting the estate of the said Dec’d and report to this Court.

Friday morning 4th March 1791, The Court met
according to adjournment. Present: Wm Watters, Jno Taylor, Wm Lytle} Esqrs.
Ordered that a Certificate issue to Rich’d Williams ??? in
right of his Wife Eliza relict of Dav’d Edwards for certifying the
determination of this Court on the ??? of Wm Edwards Ex[ecutor of] the said
Dav’d Edwards.
Wm Watters, Jno Nichols & Wm Lytle esqrs have adjusted
the acco of James Hogg Exr of Tho Burke esq dec’d return the same into Court which
is ordered to be Recorded.
On motion of Jos Taylor esq Atto &c, Ordered that a
certiorari issue to Rob’t Campbell esq, ??? Green Constable and George Dannel
to bring up the ???? Judgmt &c was tried by the said Rob’t Campbell
esq between he said Geo Dannel and the adm of James ??? Dec’d.
