On motion, Ordered that Bolling Jolley, the reputed father of a child of which Polley Dixon late single woman, now wife of Timothy Weaver was delivered, pay to the said Timothy Weaver & Polley his wife the Sum of Twenty Seven pounds on account of the maintenance of the said Child who is now five years old – and that this Sum be paid in one payment deducting therefrom any Sums which Bolling Jolley may have paid heretofore on this account & can make appear to this Court &c to have done. Ordered on Motion of Elizabeth Wells that Capias do issue to Chatham Co to arrest the Body of Thomas Crayton to answer on a charge of Bastardy, it appearing to the Co on the reter? Nex? of the West? agt the said Crayton that he is not to be found in Orange County. [See Bastardy Bonds, images 716 & 921 which call him Thomas Crayton of Randolph County, also OCPQS 6/178. Elizabeth was disowned by Cane Creek Women’s Meeting on 2 Mar 1799 for having this child out of wedlock, but was readmitted to Cane Creek Meeting in Apr 1803 after submitting a paper of condemnation.]

Nancy Carrigan vs Christopher Stubbins} On Motion, Ordered that Execution issue agt the Def’t for the Sum of £9.10/ being the arrears due the plaintiff from the Birth to the death of the Child. [See Bastardy Bonds, images 789, 797, 802 & 879, also OCPQS 5/567 & OCPQS 6/20.]

Administration de bonis non on the Estate of Andrew Trice Dec’d is granted to Charles Trice (the widow relinquishing her right of administration) who enters into Bond with Powell Riggains & Harrison Trice his Securities in the Sum of £150. Ordered that George Carrington have leave to keep a Tavern at his house on the road leading from Hillsboro to Rich’d Bennehan’s and the said Carrington enters into bond with William Warren and Ephraim Carrington his Sec’s.

On Motion, Ordered that Abram Whittaker pay unto Salley Rhodes the Sum of Twenty seven pounds six to begin from the birth of the child the 25th Sep 1799 – To be paid in annual payments for the Support & maintenance of a Child of which the said Salley Rhodes has been delivered.
