The Execution of a Deed of bargain & Sale from James Hopkins & Delilah his Wife to Duncan Cameron for an undivided seventh part of a Tract of Land which descended from Edward Harris Dec’d to the said Delilah Hopkins was duly proven by the Oath of Chuza Hopkins & Herbert Sims Witness the Subscribing Witnesses thereto & on motion Ordered to be registered. And it appearing to the Court that the said Delilah Hopkins is a feme Covert & unable to come to Court, Ordered that a Commission issue to John Latta & David Ellison Herbert Sims to them or either of them authorizing them or either of them to take the examination of the said Delilah Hopkins privately & apart from her said Husband touching the execution of said Deed.

It appearing to the Court from the return of John Latta & Herbert Simms Commissioners appointed to take the private examination of Delilah Hopkins the Wife of James Hopkins touching the Execution of a Deed by them to Duncan Cameron that she executed the same free & voluntarily & without fear or compulsion of her said Husband on an Examination before them had privily & apart from her said Husband. Ordered that Hannah Hutson daughter of Cresy Hutson a free woman of Color now of the age of 5 years this month be bound to Hall Garrison until she arrives to lawful age to learn the art & mistery of a Spinster, upon his entering into bond according to Act of Assembly in such cases made & provided. Administration on the estate of James Coupland Dec’d is granted to Michael Holt who enters into bond with Duncan Cameron his Sec’y in the Sum of fifty pounds.

On petition of Michael Holt Setting forth that he is the Owner of the land lying on both Sides of the great Allemance below Troxlers ford & praying leave to erect thereon a water grist Mill, It is Ordered that the said Michael Holt have leave to erect a mill thereon according to the Prayer of his petition and that the same when built shall be deemed a public mill.

Edward Harris vs James Montgomery} F F. It appearing to the Court that the Execution in this Case issued wrongfully against the Defend’t for the Costs of the Suit, It is Ordered that the same be set aside for all but the Judgment of 3/9 & the Clk fees of 3/9 and that Execution issue against the Plff for the Costs.

Ordered that the Order heretofore made directing the opening of a road new road commencing at or near William Couch’s old place and meeting the old road again near the Mulberry old ??? Field by Reuben Boroughs be rescinded.

Ordered that the Sheriff summon a Jury of good & lawful men to view the new road heretofore opened by Reuben Boroughs near Couch’s old place as well as the old road and report their opinion at next Court which of said roads shall be established as the public road and that the Court reserves the power of Judging the propriety of establishing the road.

Administration of the Estate of Andrew Brooks Dec’d with the Will annexed is granted to Doct Barnabas O’Farrill who enters into Bond with Henry Thompson Jr and Robert Eaton his Securities in the Sum of £1000. [See OWB D/328.]
