Find the Bond declared on to be the Act & Deed of Def’t, that there is no pay’t & set off & assess the Plff Damages for Int to £7.13.8. Prin 36.13.

Jonathan Lindly vs Thomas Whitted} Same Jury charged. Find the Bond declared on to be the Act & Deed of Def’t, that there is no pay’t or set off & assess the Plff Damages in Int to £21.12. Prin 80.

Elias Fort ass’ee vs James Murdock} Same Jury charged, find no pay’t or set off, that Value of the money mentioned in the bond declared is £54.10 & assess the Plffs Damages 4.1.8 & Costs.

Jonathan Lindly vs Thomas Robinson} Same Jury charged. Find that allowing payments endorsed the ballance due in principal & Interest is £93.7.7 & Costs. Wm Moore esqr & Richard Blackwood acknowledge themselves bound as Security for the Stay of Execution according to Act of Assembly who are approved.

Surv’g Part B?????m & Pollock vs James Palmer} Same Jury charged. Find the penalty of the Bond declared on to be of the Value of £877.9.2, the value of the condition of the Bond to be £438.12.7 & assess the plff Damages to 6d & 6d Costs.

Thomas Lindly vs Rosannah Cortner Adm’x} Same Jury charged. Find that there is no pay’t or set off, that the Value of the Dollars mentioned in the bond declared on is £37.10 & assess Plffs Damages to 16.2.6 & Costs, they further find that the Def’t hath fully administered the estate of her Intestate. Issue Sci fa agt him &c.

Sugar Jones ass’ee vs James H Lewis} Same Jury charged, find the Value of the Money in the bond declared to be £45.15 & assess the plffs Damages to £5.18.11 & Costs.

Administration on the Estate of Arthur Mangum Dec’d is granted to John Carrington Jr who enters into Bond with Nath’l Carrington, George Carrington, John D Carrington, William P Mangum in the Sum of £3000.

Ordered that the Admr of Arthur Mangum Dec’d have leave to sell all the perishable estate including negroes of said Dec’d for the purpose of paying Debts if necessary.

Ordered that Sterling Harris esq, Nathaniel Carrington, Nathaniel Harris & John Wilborne are appointed Commissioners to lay [off] & allot to Dicey Mangum Widow of Arthur Mangum Dec’d one years provisions of said Arthur Dec’d and report to next Court.

Wednesday 25th Feb 1813, Court met according to adjournment. Present: Thomas Whitted, Abner B Bruce, John Street} esqrs.

Ordered that Benjamin Wabbleton an Orphan heretofore bound to Rich’d Thompson [OCPQS 8/32] be placed in the Custody of Thomas Hastings until next Court and that notice issue to Richard Thompson to appear at next court to shew cause wherefore the Indenture shall not be cancelled. S[ub]p[oen]a John Newlin to give evidence. [See also OCPQS 7/13, OCPQS 7/241 & OCPQS 8/434.]

Betty Chizenhall vs James Latta Admr of Burwell Chizenhall Dec} Petition &c. On hearing the petition and answer, the evidence & exhibit produced in this cause, the Court doth Order, adjudge & decree that the Defendant James Latta Admr &c do pay to the petitioner the Sum of £40.12.9 with Int from 14th day of Sep’r 1807 til paid & Costs.

William Shaw appeared in open Court & took the Oaths necessary for the qualification of a Justice of the peace.

The State vs William Lockhart} Ind’t. Jury Sworn: William Hopkins, Robert Morrow, John Rasberry, Greenfield Debruler, Boston Isley, Andrew King, Thomas Hastings, Shurly King, James Latta, Richard Blackwood, James Lindly, Richard Woods. Find the Defendant Guilty in manner & form as charged in the Bill of Ind’t.

Ordered that the Order heretofore made respecting Hemelius Patton be renewed. [See OCPQS 8/408.]

[OCPQS 8/429 – Feb 1813]

Administration on the Estate of Reuben Boroughs Dec’d is granted to Jean Boroughs, Zaccheus Boroughs, Bryan Boroughs and Cornelius Tyson who enter into Bond with John Craig & John Taylor Sr their Securities in the Sum of £2500.

Ordered that the administrators of Reuben Boroughs Dec’d have leave to sell the perishable estate of said Dec’d.

Ordered that John Cabe esqr, Abram Craig, Chesley P Patterson & Mann Patterson be appointed to lay off & allot to Jean Boroughs widow of Reuben Boroughs Dec’d one years provision out of the stock, crop & provision of the Dec’d.

Administration on the Estate of Nicholas Holt Dec’d is granted to James Nicholson who enters into Bond with Joseph Clendening his Sec’y in the Sum of £200.

Ordered that Joseph Clendening esq’r, Levin Wood, George Albright & Lewis Horneday are appointed to lay off & allot to Sarah Holt widow of Nicholas Holt Dec’d one years provision out of the Stock, crop & provisions of Dec’d.

Ordered that Nancy Whittaker a Girl of Color about eight years old be bound to Polley Comb until she arrive to lawful age to learn the Art & mistery of a Spinster. [Bond not found. See also OCPQS 9/487.]

Ordered that John Whittaker a boy of Color about five years old be bound to James Forsyth until he arrives to lawful age to learn the Art & mistery of a farmer. [Bond not found.]

Ordered that the Sheriff bring up the body of ?? Whitaker a child of Color & daughter of Corny Whitaker to this Court on friday next to be bound out.

Ordered that the Sheriff bring up the body of Lee Tatom a child of color & son of Betsy Tatom to this court on friday next to be bound out.

Administration of the Estate of Michael Charles Dec’d is granted to Michael Holt & James Elsia? who enter into Bond with Jeremiah Holt Sec’y in the Sum of £500.

Administration of the Estate of John Clapp Sr Dec’d is granted to John Clapp Jr who enters into Bond with Fredrick Sharp and Isaac Holt in the Sum of £500.

John Moore Admr of Sarah Trice is allowed 5 p ct on the amount of his Account.

Administration with the Will annexed on the Estate of Wm Ray Dec’d is granted to David Allison & Stephen Taylor who enter into Bond with Isaac Holden their Sec’y in the sum of £200. [See OWB D/366.]

Ordered that John Clark an Orphan of Peggy Allen of the age of 11 years April next be bound to John Craig until he arrives to lawful age to learn that Art & mistery of a farmer. [Bond not found. See also OCPQS 9/153 where John was re-bound to Reuben Smith, after he married Peggy Allen in 1815.]

The Execution of the last Will & Testament of John McRory Sr Dec’d was duly proved in open Court by the Oath of Samuel Crawford a Subscribing Witness thereto & ordered to be recorded. [See OWB D/367.]

Administration with the Will annexed on the Estate of John McRory Dec’d is granted to Edw’d Faucett who enters into Bond with Samuel Crawford & And’w McRory his Sec’s in the Sum of £500.

Administration on the Estate of Isaac Hall Dec’d is granted to Elizabeth Hall & Junior Hall who enter into bond with William Whitted & James Mebane Sec’s in the Sum of £500.

Ordered that John Thompson esqr, Rob’t Thompson, Sam’l Thompson & Joseph Thompson be appointed to lay off & allot to Anne Bradshaw widow of Wm Bradshaw Dec’d one years provision out of the Stock, Crop & provision of said Dec’d.

Ordered that the Indenture made binding to Rich’d Thompson an Orphan Boy called Benjamin Wabbleton be canceled [OCPQS 8/32]. Ordered that said Benjamin Wabbleton be bound to Thomas Hastings until he arrive to lawful age to learn the Art & mistery of a farmer. [Bond not found. Ordered that Alexander Husbands now of the Age of 14 years 12th April next son of Wm Husbands be bound to John Whithed until he arrives to lawful age to learn the art & mistery of a farmer. [Bond not found. See also OCPQS 9/343.]

Ordered that Zedekiah Husbands son of Wm Husbands now of the age of 11 years 27th March next be bound to Joseph Woody until he arrive to lawful age to learn the art & mistery of a farmer. [Bond not found.]
