Chaney Mangum vs Wm P Mangum and John J Carrington admrs &c} Jury No 1 charged, find that the Virginia money mentioned in the Bond declared is of the Value of £100, which is principal & assess the Plaintiffs damages to £63.5 & that there is no pay’t or set off and that Defendants have fully administered.

George Carrington vs Henry Hunt} Aquilla Rhodes a witness in behalf of plaintiff being solemnly called by the Sheriff at the door of the Court house but failing to appear according to the Subpoena served on him is fined according to act of Assembly. A rule is granted on Aquilla Rhodes to shew cause why an Attachment shall not issue agt him.

Administration on the Estate of Henry Lewis dec’d is granted to Nicholas Atkins who enters into Bond with Thomas Clancy and Jacob Whitaker his Sec’y in the Sum of £500, the Widow relinquishes her right.

Thomas Murdock comes into Court & resigns his Guardianship of Nancy Dixon. Whereupon John Boon is appointed Guardian to the said Nancy Dixon and enters into Bond with Michael Holt and Benjamin Whidbee Sec’y in the Sum of £500.

Ordered that William Gray Son of [blank] Gray now of the age of about 4 years be bound to Charles Cox to learn the art & mistery of a painter. [See Apprentice Bonds, image 563 & 575.]

Ordered that Alexander Merony Orphan of William Merony dec’d be bound to Arnold Brown to learn the art & Mistery of a painter until he arrives to lawful age. [Bond not found.]

George Simms a man of Color having been who was heretofore committed to the Jail of this County on Suspicion of his being a runaway Slave, having been brought into Court and the Court being Satisfied that he is a free Man it is Ordered that he be discharged from his Imprisonment upon his taking the Oath prescribed for the relief of Insolvent Debtors. Whereupon the said George took the said oath and was discharged accordingly.

In the Case of Elizabeth Woods} Whereas a Writ heretofore issued directing the Sheriff to summon a Jury to examine into the State of the mind of Elizabeth Woods, and they having reported that She is a Lunatic, It is therefore Ordered William Cain be appointed Guardian to Said Elizabeth Woods & enters into Bond.
